Dublin B&Bs: 6 of the Best B&Bs in Ireland’s Capital

Dublin B&Bs

When it comes to Dublin, there’s no shortage of choice for accommodation. From backpacker hostels to luxury five star hotels; there’s a little bit of everything. What a lot of people tend to forget though are Dublin’s B&Bs. Irish B&Bs are famous around the world, but they are usually associated with the country’s smaller towns and villages. However, anyone planning a trip to Ireland’s capital should know that there are actually some pretty great B&Bs throughout the city, many of which are located in the city center. So if you are looking to experience some real Irish hospitality, here are six great Dublin B&Bs.

Staunton’s on the Green

Staunton’s on the green is in a great location at the bottom of St. Stephen’s Green; one of Dublin’s famous parks. It’s a historic building that has been called home by some pretty important Irish names. All rooms include private bathrooms with toiletries, free WiFi, and park or garden views. Great for travellers who want a quiet, but still central location. I stayed here a couple years ago and was happy to discover it’s close to two of my favourite Dublin pubs: The Bleeding Horse and O’Donoghues (which is great for live music).

Harrington Hall

Harrington Hall is an elegant Dublin B&B also located close to Stephen’s Green and about a five-minute walk from Grafton Street. There are 29 rooms, and all of them are ensuite. Plus, for anyone who is planning on renting a car, parking is free. The building features beautiful Georgian architecture and has been recently renovated.

Number 31

Number 31 is a luxurious B&B in Dublin’s Georgian Quarter; a beautiful but quiet area only about a 10-minute walk from Grafton Street and several of Dublin’s top attractions and tourist sites. Personal service and delicious breakfasts make it a top choice for travellers looking to stay in one of Dublin’s best B&Bs. In fact, the Number 31 was voted as Georgina Campbell’s guesthouse of the year in 2017.

O’Neills Victorian Pub and Townhouse

O’Neills Victorian Pub and Townhouse offers travellers a fun and unique way to experience Ireland’s capital. The rooms are modern with ensuite bathrooms, and the pub, is known for its great food and whisky tasting experience. The restaurant also has their own special brew red ale called ‘O’Neill’s Red’. The central location, close to Trinity College, and only five minutes from Grafton Street makes it easy to explore the city’s highlights.

Andorra Bed and Breakfast

Andorra Bed and Breakfast is further outside the city centre than the other Dublin B&Bs on this list, but it’s a great pick for travellers to Ireland who have rented a car or those who don’t mind taking public transportation. It’s a small B&B with only four rooms, hearty breakfasts, and free parking if arranged in advance. Plus, it’s only a fifteen-minute walk to the beach. Being a little further from the centre also means that this Dublin B&B is a cheaper than the more central options.
